This petal dust will add color and dimension to your decorations and can be applied wet or dry with a food-grade brush. This petal dust can simply be brushed on molded candies, fondant, and gum paste with a dry food-grade brush. You can achieve deeper colors when you mix with alcohol or oil-based media and use it to paint your creations.
- When applied with an alcohol base liquid or alcohol edible extract(like lemon and almond), it can dry faster than other liquid solutions. Please check some tutorials below comparing liquid solutions.
- Tip for wet application: If you want an intense color, a way to accomplish that is by mixing the powder with alcohol-based liquid (vodka is recommended) or an alcohol-based extract like lemon extract. Because the fine particles only take a small amount of liquid. You can start with a few drops and mix them until you reach the desired color and consistency.
- You can paint on multiple coats to obtain brighter and deeper colors; just be sure to let each layer dry in between applications.
- When applied dry, steaming will help make your colors vibrant.
